Grassroots union chairman hopes to have many low-cost social housing for workers
The Chairman of the Trade Union of Saitex International Dong Nai Company Limited expects the Party and State to have more affordable social housing policies for workers.
On the afternoon of January 23, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Le Van Binh - Chairman of the Trade Union of Saitex International Dong Nai Company Limited ( Amata Industrial Park, Long Binh Ward, Dong Nai Province, with more than 3,000 workers) - congratulated the 14th National Congress of the Party on its great success.
Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union Le Van Binh hopes: The Party and State will continue to have many better policies to care for union members and workers such as: increasing income for workers, social housing, kindergartens for workers' children; workers at enterprises hope that the Party and State will continue to have more policies and guidelines of more interest such as salary regimes, allowances, appropriate rest regimes...
According to Mr. Binh, currently, many workers in the area are imported workers and have to rent houses, so they are looking forward to the Party and State having more policies to build low-cost social housing areas, suitable for the low income of workers, because many social housing areas in Dong Nai province are still expensive, up to a billion VND/house, far exceeding the income of workers by about 10-12 million VND/month, just enough to cover their family life.
Mr. Binh also hopes that the Party and the State will continue to pay attention to workers' families whose children are studying at private schools because the average tuition fee is 4-5 million VND/month, which will be very difficult for workers.
The Party and State continue to pay attention to giving trade unions more position and voice in the negotiation process with enterprises to care for and best protect the rights of union members and workers.
