Handing over support for 2 Trade Union Shelters during the Military-Civilian Tet program in An Giang
An Giang - The Provincial Labor Federation handed over 2 Trade Union Shelters for the 2026 Military-Civilian Tet Program.
On November 22, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the People's Committee of Hoa Dien commune to organize a groundbreaking ceremony and presented a symbolic board to build a Trade Union Shelter for 2 households in especially difficult circumstances, including: Ms. Duong Thi Sau (land in Lung Kha Na hamlet, Kien Luong commune) and Mr. Danh Thanh (Thanh Loi hamlet, Hoa Dien commune), on the occasion of the 2026 Military - People's Tet program.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Provincial Military Command, representatives of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation, leaders of the People's Committee of Hoa Dien commune and local departments, branches and unions.
The two households currently do not have stable housing, have extremely difficult living conditions, and are unable to build their own houses. In particular, Ms. Duong Thi Sau's family currently does not have their own house, and has had to stay at an acquaintance's house for a long time, and their lives are very precarious.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hua Van Phung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Deputy Head of the An Giang Provincial Trade Union Work Committee - said: The Trade Union Shelter Program is a key activity of the Provincial Trade Union in caring for union members, workers and people with difficult housing circumstances, contributing to helping households settle down, settle down, and stabilize their long-term lives.

According to the design, each house has an area of 4.5m x 11m, the total estimated construction cost is about 100 million VND/house. Of which, the family of Ms. Duong To Hoa - Tu Bi Co Bay Charity Group (HCMC) - supported Ms. Duong Thi Sau's household with 60 million VND and Mr. Danh Thanh's household with 50 million VND; the rest was contributed by the family from loans from the Social Policy Bank and other support sources.
Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Dien Commune, and Chairwoman of the Commune Farmers' Association - informed: Ms. Duong Thi Sau is currently a part-time employee at the Commune Party Committee, her family has 5 members, and is in especially difficult circumstances. Recently, she has had to treat her children for traffic accidents and has not had stable housing. Mr. Danh Thanh is a Khmer ethnic, working at sea, with an unstable income; his house is very temporary and seriously degraded.
The groundbreaking of the construction of Trade Union Shelters for disadvantaged households continues to affirm the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for social security, accompanying union members, workers and people, contributing to strengthening the solidarity between the army and people and stabilizing the lives of people in disadvantaged areas.
It is expected that the project will be completed and handed over in the near future.
