Handing over 2 Trade Union Shelters on the occasion of the Military-Civilian Tet in An Giang
An Giang - The Trade Union Shelter has contributed to affirming the role of the Trade Union organization accompanying union members, workers and the people.
On January 12, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Co Bay Charity Volunteer Group (HCMC), along with representatives of the Provincial Military Command and leaders of the People's Committee of Hoa Dien Commune to organize a handover ceremony of the Trade Union Shelter to 2 households with difficult housing circumstances in Hoa Dien Commune.
The An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor handed over the house to Ms. Duong Thi Sau, residing in Lung Kha Na hamlet, Kien Luong commune, currently working at the People's Committee of Hoa Dien commune. The house has an area of 55m2, a total cost of 180 million VND, of which the Provincial Federation of Labor mobilized the Ms. Bay Charity Volunteer Group to support 60 million VND, the rest of the family contributed.
The second house was handed over to Mr. Danh Thanh, residing in Thanh Loi Hamlet, Hoa Dien Commune, with a construction area of 58.5m2, a total construction cost of 160 million VND, of which the Sister Bay Charity Group supported 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by his family.

According to the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, the two households currently do not have stable housing, have extremely difficult living conditions, and are unable to build their own houses. In particular, Ms. Duong Thi Sau's family currently does not have their own house, and has had to stay at an acquaintance's house for a long time, and their lives are very precarious. Ms. Duong Thi Sau is a part-time employee at the Commune Party Committee, her family has 5 members and is in especially difficult circumstances. Recently, I have had to treat my child for traffic accidents and not have a stable house. Mr. Danh Thanh is a Khmer ethnic, working at sea, with an unstable income. Mr. Thanh's old house is just a makeshift, seriously degraded.
At the handover ceremony, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Pham Van Dang said: The Trade Union Shelter Program is a key activity of the Kien Giang Provincial Trade Union in caring for union members, workers and people with difficult housing circumstances, contributing to helping households settle down, have a job and stabilize their long-term lives.
The groundbreaking of the construction of Trade Union Shelters for disadvantaged households continues to affirm the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for social security, accompanying union members, workers and people. Thereby contributing to strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people and stabilizing the lives of people in disadvantaged areas.
This is also a practical activity to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party, and is also a project in the series of activities for the 2026 Military-Civilian Tet in An Giang province, contributing to the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality.
