Workers of Panko Vina Company return to work, waiting for the regime to be resolved
HCMC - HCMC Trade Union is coordinating with agencies and localities to resolve the case of workers at Panko Vina Co., Ltd. not coming to work.
On the morning of December 29, hundreds of workers at Panko Vina Co., Ltd. (My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park, Ben Cat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) did not enter the factory to work.
The incident occurred a week after Panko Vina Co., Ltd. announced that it had to terminate the factory's production and business activities due to difficulties and out of orders.
Talking to reporters, the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation said that he had sent officers to the company to coordinate with units to resolve and protect the rights of workers.
The leader of Ben Cat Ward People's Committee also said that the workers did not come to work to express the company's wish to pay 13th month salary and some other regimes.
After receiving the information, the functional forces of Ben Cat Ward People's Committee worked with the units to the company to coordinate in resolving the issue. Currently, the situation at the enterprise has stabilized, workers have entered factories and workshops to work again.
The leader of Ben Cat Ward People's Committee said that this afternoon, the relevant agencies will have a working session with the leaders of Panko Vina Company Limited on the regimes and policies after the enterprise stops operations. After that, there will be an official response to the workers.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on December 23, Panko Vina Company Limited issued a notice about the termination of the company's production and business activities from February 1, 2026. The company is committed to fully fulfilling its obligations related to employees according to the provisions of law.
According to the company's Trade Union, the unit held a meeting with the managers of all departments, then collected the opinions of workers. First, workers expect the company to pay their 13th month salary. Second, it is recommended that the company finalize the insurance payment period and salary payment period for January 2026. Third, it is recommended that the company provide severance pay equal to 3 months of basic salary for employees.
