Khanh Hoa - The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor conducts a field survey and collects opinions from workers to assess the quality of lunch meals at enterprises.

On August 17, a working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor surveyed and evaluated the organization and quality of lunch meals for workers at some businesses in Khanh Hoa.

The 3 surveyed businesses include Unicorp Logistics Co., Ltd., Hai Nam Co., Ltd. (Dien Phu Industrial Cluster) and Khanh Hoa Bird's Nest Beverage Joint Stock Company (Song Cau Industrial Cluster).

At the units, the working group directly inspected the organization of lunch meals, processing procedures, food sources, meal quality, food sampling work as well as the processing team. Facilities, equipment, dining halls and tools serving workers were also inspected and evaluated by the delegation.

In addition to the actual survey, the working group collected opinions from workers, trade union officials and employers on the quality of lunch meals. Notably, at each business, 70 workers participated in an online survey using QR codes to assess satisfaction levels, issues to be improved and actual needs related to meals.

The survey content also focused on leadership, direction, propaganda, inspection, and supervision of the organization of lunch meals; the number of workers benefiting; effective models, creative ways of working and the impact of lunch meals on workers' health and lives.

The delegation also acknowledged the role of grassroots trade unions in proposing plans to organize lunch meals, collecting workers' opinions, organizing dialogues, negotiations and incorporating lunch meal content into collective labor agreements.

This is one of the contents that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor focuses on to improve the quality of care for workers' lives.

Through surveys, the working group assessed that businesses have paid attention to maintaining and gradually improving the quality of lunch meals. The spending level for meals at surveyed businesses is from 23,000 VND/meal or more, contributing to ensuring nutrition and health for workers.

The process of selecting, purchasing raw materials, processing, storing food samples and food safety control is strictly implemented. Dining halls at enterprises are invested in spacious, clean, airy, meeting the requirements of serving workers.

According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, lunch meals not only help workers ensure health and regenerate labor, but also show the concern and responsibility of businesses towards workers. Thereby, contributing to building a stable working environment, creating attachment and helping workers feel secure in working for a long time.

The survey in Khanh Hoa also helps the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have more basis to assess the actual implementation of lunch meals at enterprises, and at the same time record effective models and ways of doing things for research and replication in the coming time.
