Teachers who do not serve the committed time must be compensated for training costs

Clause 2, Article 23, Decree 93/2026/ND-CP detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Teachers (effective from March 31, 2026) stipulates the regime, policies and responsibilities of teachers when sent for training and fostering as follows:

a) Teachers sent for training and fostering are entitled to full salary, allowances (if any) and other regimes and policies according to current regulations. The time participating in training and fostering is included in the continuous working time;

b) Teachers who are sent for training and fostering using state budget or financial resources of educational institutions but voluntarily drop out of school, quit their jobs or do not serve enough committed time must be compensated for training and fostering costs according to the Government's regulations on training and fostering cadres, civil servants, and public employees.

Thus, from March 31, 2026, teachers who are sent for training and fostering but do not serve the committed time will have to compensate for training and fostering costs.
