Congress of the Party Cell of the Propaganda Department of the General Confederation for the 2022 - 2025 term

Attending the congress were Comrade Ngo Duc Tuan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Confederation, Comrade Vu Thi Giang Huong - Member of the Presidium of the General Confederation, Head of the Propaganda Department, Secretary of the Party Cell of the General Confederation of Propaganda Department for the 2020 - 2022 term. Presenting the draft report summarizing the activities of the Party cell for the 2020 - 2022 term, Comrade Vu Thi Giang Huong - Secretary of the Propaganda Department Party Cell said that the Propaganda Department Party Cell currently has 13 Party members, 100% of whom are years old and have advanced work, of which 15% are grassroots emulation fighters or higher, during the term, 4 comrades received Certificates of Merit from the General Confederation and ministries and branches. The General Confederation of Propaganda Department was awarded 04 Certificates of Merit by the General Confederation and ministries and branches.

According to comrade Vu Thi Giang Huong, during her term, the Propaganda Department has focused on leading cadres and party members to uphold their sense of responsibility, explore and be creative in advising and proposing with expertise, the Standing Committee of the Presidium innovated content and methods, improved the quality and effectiveness of Trade Union Propaganda activities, and achieved outstanding results such as:

Every year, the Committee has advised and guided Trade Unions at all levels to implement Propaganda work in conjunction with the implementation of political tasks of the sector, locality, and country; focusing on propagating the Party's guidelines, the State's laws and policies, and the tasks of the Trade Union organization. Advising on the effective implementation of communication and propaganda work on the results of the workers' movement of the Trade Union, major policies in innovating the organization and operation of the Vietnam Trade Union.

Proactively advise and guide trade unions at all levels to effectively implement the annual Workers' Month with activities with specific criteria and topics, practically taking care of improving the material and spiritual life of workers; At the same time, advise the Prime Minister to meet and dialogue with 4,500 workers in Bac Giang and 62 provinces and cities.

The highlight of the past term was that in the context of the fierce covid 19 epidemic, the Propaganda Department has advised and guided, coordinated to organize many practical activities that have the influence to spread to union members, employees and the whole society such as: Mid-hour Exercise Clip Creative Contest; Labor Law Research Contest 2019, Ethnic and Religious Research Writing Contest; Front-line Dance Composition Contest and Unforgettable Moments Clip along with the Vietnam Aspiration for Peace Program...

Advising and guiding the implementation of Directive 05 of the Politburo on Learning and following Ho Chi Minh's moral and stylistic example in conjunction with implementing the Resolution of the 12th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Advising on the development of an Action Program to implement Resolution 02-NQ/TU of the Politburo on Innovation of the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation; guiding the propaganda about Vietnam's sea and islands; implementing a campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize the use of Vietnamese goods in the Trade Union system. In addition, during the term of the Party Cell, the Party Cell led and directed the professional consultants to advise on the construction of the Workers - Trade Union Museum according to the plan, deploy propaganda work to prevent crimes, drugs, HIV and social evils, propagate traffic safety and the work of building a smoke-free working environment in the Trade Union system to achieve many results, highly appreciated by ministries and functional branches.

The Party Cell regularly pays attention to leadership and creating conditions for the Union to perform well its functions and tasks according to regulations. The union organizes regular activities, mobilizes union members to study and improve their political qualifications and professional expertise to perform well the assigned tasks.

In addition to the achieved tasks, comrade Vu Thi Giang Huong also pointed out limitations and shortcomings such as: A few party members have not shown pioneering and exemplary behavior, their working style is still passive, and they lack sharpness and creativity in advising, so the effectiveness of advising on some topics is not high. In the fight against criticism and self-criticism that is not regular, some party members still avoid and respect it. Party development work has not been completed as set out in the resolution.

Speaking at the congress, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duc Tuan acknowledged and commended the results that the Propaganda Department Party Cell has achieved in the past term.

Comrade Ngo Duc Tuan suggested that the Party Cell Committee for the 2022 - 2025 term must be the core, the core of solidarity. Party cells need to continue to improve the quality of Party cell activities, associated with assessing the responsibility of setting an example for Party members, combating the manifestations of "self-evolution, self-transformation". It is necessary to innovate the content and organization of grassroots party organizations in the spirit of Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW on strengthening the building of grassroots party organizations and improving the quality of party members in the new period.

The Congress approved the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the Congress of the Propaganda Department of the General Confederation for the 2022 - 2025 term with 6 contents. Comrade Vu Thi Giang Huong - Member of the Presidium, Head of the Propaganda Department, Secretary of the Propaganda Department Party Cell for the 2020 - 2022 term continued to be elected as Secretary of the Propaganda Department of the General Confederation for the 2022 - 2025 term.
