Eliminate temporary houses, warm Tet for Khmer people
Soc Trang - New houses not only help people feel secure in celebrating Tet but also foster faith and hope for a brighter future.
A warm Tet in a new house
These days, all the villages of the Khmer people in Soc Trang province - where the Khmer community accounts for over 30% of the province's population - are bustling in the atmosphere of celebrating the traditional New Year of the Snake. This year, that joy seems to be multiplied when thousands of Khmer households in difficulty have celebrated Tet in new, solid houses full of love.
The family of Ms. Tran Thi My Xuyen in My Thuan commune (My Tu district) could not hide their emotions when the new house was just completed before Tet. "My family's biggest dream of a solid house has come true. Having a new house to celebrate Tet, the whole family is very happy. From now on, we only need to focus on doing business to raise children to study and develop the family economy".

In the spacious house that has just been completed, Ms. Lam Thi Suol in Long Phu commune (Long Phu district) emotionally said: "My family is in difficulty, I cannot build a house by myself. Thanks to the support of the locality, my children and grandchildren now have a place to gather on the traditional New Year's Day. This is an extremely meaningful gift, we will try harder to overcome difficulties".
That joy also came to Mr. Duong Dam's family in Lich Hoi Thuong town (Tran De district). Mr. Dam said that his family's circumstances are difficult, the house is dilapidated, and there is a risk of collapse at any time. From the budget of the local program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, he has a place to settle down and make a living.
Complete the removal of temporary houses 3 months in advance
