Vietnam hopes for good results from the visit of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping
It is expected that during the visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Vietnam - China will sign about 40 cooperation documents.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son answered an interview with the Vietnamese press during the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
Sharing about the significance and expectations of the visit, especially this year, the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (18.1.1950 - 18.1.2025), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasized: Taking place less than a year after General Secretary To Lam's state visit to China, the state visit to Vietnam this time by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping is an important foreign policy event of the two Parties and two countries, of strategic significance, long-term impact on the development of Vietnam - China relations in the context that both countries are entering a new era, a new era of development.
This is Comrade Xi Jinping's fourth visit to Vietnam as the highest leader of the Party and State of China and the second visit during the 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China; especially taking place during the "Year of Humanitarian Exchange", commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (1950 - 2025).
"It is expected that during the visit, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping will have high-level talks with General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong, and meetings with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to discuss major measures, directions and orientations to promote bilateral relations in various fields; in addition, Comrade Xi Jinping will also participate in a number of other important foreign affairs activities" - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son revealed.
He added that the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam are very hopeful and expect the visit of the General Secretary and President of China to achieve good results in the following aspects:
Firstly, increase high-level strategic exchanges, especially regular contacts between the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, thereby further consolidating the foundation of political trust, sharing experiences in governance and national development, and orienting the stable and healthy development of bilateral relations in the context of the continued complicated international and regional situation.
Second, identify major directions, focus on implementing cooperation in various fields; elevate substantial cooperation between the two countries towards increasingly high quality, efficiency, and sustainability; promote the creation of "bright spots" in high-level cooperation, especially in areas where Vietnam has a need for, China has strengths such as standard gauge railways, agricultural trade, science and technology, education and training, digital economy, green economy... to meet the aspirations and interests of the people of the two countries. It is expected that during the visit, ministries, agencies and localities of both sides will sign about 40 cooperation documents in a series of fields, creating an important foundation for more effective cooperation in the coming time.
Third, spreading the positive effects of the visit to all levels, sectors, and people of all walks of life on both sides; promoting the successful implementation of the Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025, enhancing the exchange of friendship between mass organizations, socio-political organizations, expanding cooperation between localities of the two countries, thereby enhancing mutual understanding and trust, promoting traditional friendship, and consolidating a good foundation of public opinion for bilateral relations.
Fourth, through exchanges in a spirit of frankness, sincerity, substance, mutual understanding, placing oneself in each other's positions to properly handle existing problems on the border, control and better resolve disagreements at sea according to the general high-level awareness, not allowing problems at sea to affect the healthy development of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region as well as in the world.
