Diversifying communication on poverty reduction

Krong Nang commune has 40 villages and hamlets. In particular, many villages and hamlets are in ethnic minority areas and areas with special difficulties. The rate of poor and near-poor households in these areas is still high.

In recent times, the People's Committee of the commune has implemented many forms of communication on poverty reduction, helping people clearly understand the significance of the programs and policies of the Party and the State.

The propaganda is carried out through a loudspeaker system, integrated into livestock training sessions, farming or community activities in villages and hamlets.

Ms. H'Giang Mlo (Krong Nang commune) shared: "Every morning, I often listen to the loudspeaker to update news and learn effective economic models to apply in practice. I find this form of propaganda very useful, easy to access and easy to remember for people.

Mr. Y Bom Mlo, another resident of Krong Nang commune, said that the bright spot in promoting poverty reduction policies is the role of connecting village heads and local authorities.

"The village chief often comes to my house to disseminate the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State. During the livestock training sessions, commune officials also instructed poor households to borrow preferential capital for economic development, and supported clean water for daily life. This is the most understandable and memorable form of propaganda for the people, said Mr. Y Bom.

Synchronizing practical solutions

In the period of 20252030, the People's Committee of Krong Nang commune aims to implement multidimensional poverty reduction, limit re-poorness and prevent new poverty arising through the synchronous implementation of solutions in accordance with local realities.

The commune will support poor households to reach the minimum living standard, fully accessing basic social services according to the national multidimensional poverty standard. Thereby improving the quality of life for people.

To realize this goal, the locality has promoted communication activities, mobilizing people to understand and effectively approach poverty reduction and social security policies. At the same time, focus on converting production methods towards science, associated with developing value chains and sustainable linkages.

Village heads, hamlets and prestigious people continue to promote their core role in spreading effective poverty reduction models, typical examples of rising out of poverty, creating a widespread influence in the community, contributing to the implementation of the goal of sustainable poverty reduction.

Mr. Pham Dinh Chuong - Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Krong Nang commune - said that to effectively implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction and Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority Areas, the commune will focus on implementing many key tasks.

In particular, propaganda work plays a key role in providing practical information for people to apply to local socio-economic development.

According to Mr. Chuong, the commune will strengthen communication, guide people to improve their knowledge and production skills, proactively escape poverty instead of waiting and relying on the support of the State.

The commune will also raise awareness and responsibility of the whole society for multidimensional poverty reduction; at the same time, promote the role of policy officers in arousing the spirit of self-reliance and self-reliance of the people.

"Thereby, helping them better access legal aid services and mobilize social resources to successfully achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction," Mr. Chuong affirmed.
