Ho Chi Minh City - During the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, the city's tourism revenue is estimated at 12,150 billion VND, an increase of 42.9% compared to the Lunar New Year 2025.
22. 2. Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that the activities to welcome the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 of the city's tourism industry have achieved outstanding results.
Tourism, cultural and festival activities at the beginning of the year are organized synchronously in the city, contributing to creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere, spreading the image of attractive destinations in the first days of the new year.
During the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday 2026 (February 14 - February 22), visitors to tourist areas and attractions are estimated at: 4,320,000, an increase of 35% compared to Lunar New Year 2025; international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City are estimated at 170,000, an increase of 51.7% compared to Lunar New Year 2025.
Room occupancy is estimated to reach about 75%, an increase of 10% compared to the Lunar New Year 2025.
Tourism revenue is estimated at 12,150 billion VND, an increase of 42.9% compared to the Lunar New Year 2025. This is the highest figure ever recorded during the Tet holiday.
This year's Tet holiday recorded the trend of urban tourism, entertainment - sightseeing - Tet experience, focusing on typical products and central space; a series of fixed, large-scale Tet activities to keep visitors in the city and increase service spending.
In the city center area, Nguyen Hue Flower Street, Tao Dan Park, Tet Flower Market "On the wharf, under the boat"... attract a large number of people and tourists.
In particular, tourism activities in Binh Duong ward recorded positive signals, mainly domestic tourists and short-day visitors. The Vung Tau, Long Hai, Ho Tram, Ho Coc beach areas recorded a high increase in the number of overnight visitors during the holiday, especially visitors from the center of Ho Chi Minh City and Southeast provinces.
In parallel, wards, communes, and special zones in the city have implemented many urban embellishment activities, artistic lighting decorations, building spring miniatures, Tet care programs... contributing to creating more attractive destinations for people and tourists to visit, play, and enjoy.
