HCMC has a new Director of the Department of Finance
Ho Chi Minh City - On the morning of March 30, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc awarded the decision to appoint Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh to hold the position of Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance.
Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh (52 years old, from Hai Duong province, now Hai Phong city) holds a master's degree in economics, a bachelor's degree in finance - accounting and advanced political theory.
Before being appointed, Mr. Thanh worked for many years in Vung Tau City (old Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), and held positions such as Director of the Construction Investment Project Management Board, Head of the Finance - Planning Department, Vice Chairman and Chairman of Vung Tau City People's Committee.
In February 2025, Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh was appointed Director of the Department of Finance of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
After Ho Chi Minh City merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, from July 2025, Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh will hold the position of Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance.
By mid-November 2025, Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh will be assigned as Acting Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Finance.
Currently, Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh is a member of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, a delegate of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for the 2026 - 2031 term.
