General Secretary To Lam visits and presents gifts in Thai Nguyen
Thai Nguyen - On the afternoon of October 16, General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to people in Thai Nguyen province affected by storm No. 11.

After surveying at Ben Tuong Bridge, listening to local reports on the damage situation and natural disaster recovery work, General Secretary To Lam kindly visited and shared the difficulties of the province and local people. General Secretary To Lam and the working delegation also visited and encouraged people in Linh Son ward affected by storms and floods.
The General Secretary hopes that the people in the area will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity with authorities at all levels to quickly overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
General Secretary To Lam requested authorities at all levels to urgently lead and direct production restoration and quickly stabilize people's lives. Quickly shift from a state of overcoming consequences to a state of restoration and stability to soon bring production, business activities and people's lives back to normal.
Focus on restoring the traffic system, dykes, irrigation, domestic water, prioritizing the repair of routes serving relief, goods transportation and people's travel.
Strengthen information and propaganda work; continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and joint support. Call on organizations, businesses, individuals, cadres and people in the province to continue to join hands to support people in affected areas.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation presented gifts to representatives of 30 households in Linh Son ward; representatives of the provincial police and military forces.
The Central working delegation also presented Thai Nguyen province with 5 billion VND to support overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
According to the report of the leaders of Thai Nguyen province, due to the influence of the circulation of storm No. 11, the province experienced widespread heavy rain from the night of October 6. Heavy rain caused particularly large floods, exceeding historical floods; the water level of Cau River rose to above alert level 3.
Heavy rain and floods have caused flooding in 54 communes, wards and some localities, affecting about 200,000 households. Natural disasters killed 7 people and injured 3 others; total estimated property damage is over VND12,200 billion.
