General Secretary To Lam receives Laos' most prestigious medal
The National Gold Medal is the most noble medal of the Lao People's Democratic Republic awarded to General Secretary To Lam.
At noon on December 1, on behalf of the Lao Party and State, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith presented General Secretary To Lam with the National Gold Medal.
This is the most noble Medal awarded by the Lao People's Democratic Republic to General Secretary To Lam for his great contributions to fostering the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.
Attending the ceremony were: General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife; High-ranking delegations of Vietnam and Laos.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam shared his honor and emotion at receiving the National Gold Medal - the highest award of the Lao Party, State and People. This is a great pride for the General Secretary personally and is also a vivid testament to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos - a relationship that has become a model, lasting over time of comradeship and brotherhood.
The General Secretary expressed his gratitude and remembered the great President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Pvihane and beloved President Souphanouvong - those who directly nurtured, built and laid a solid foundation for the special friendship between the two peoples with sincere hearts and wise intelligence, with the aspiration for prosperous development, bringing prosperity and happiness to the people, so that today we can always be proud of the solidarity and everlasting friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
The General Secretary expressed his deep gratitude to the Lao Party, State and people for always standing side by side with the Party, State and people of Vietnam throughout the past struggle for national independence, as well as the current cause of protecting, building and developing the country.
The General Secretary emphasized that the spirit of solidarity has become a great strength that leads to our glorious victory and peace and independence today and will continue to lead the way for the two countries and peoples of Vietnam and Laos to forever accompany, share the same vision and fate, just like the saying of the friends "Solidarity is strength".
The General Secretary affirmed that he will continue to work with the collective leadership of the Party and State of Vietnam to make every effort, together with the leadership of the Party and State of Laos to foster the increasingly developing "ironsome" relationship between Vietnam and Laos, worthy of the sacrifices and contributions of previous generations, meeting the aspirations of the people of the two countries.
