Dong Thap province has created jobs for over 275,000 workers

Dong Thap Electronic Information Portal reported that on December 22, the People's Council of Dong Thap province, term X, 2021 - 2026, held its 7th session. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Chau Thi My Phuong; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Van Chuan; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Thanh Nguyen.

Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong emphasized that the session is of great significance, discussing and approving a number of resolutions and plans for the 2026 - 2030 period, as a foundation for creating momentum for the province's new growth cycle in the new period. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council suggested that the delegates promote a high sense of responsibility, focus on careful research, and discuss in depth to have quality contributions, close to reality.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Van Dung - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province presented a Report on the results of the implementation of the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on the 5-year socio-economic development plan of Dong Thap province (2021 - 2025), 5-year socio-economic development plan (2026 - 2030); Report on the issuance of a Resolution on the 5-year socio-economic development plan of Dong Thap province (2026 - 2030).

Accordingly, Dong Thap province has completed and exceeded 14/21 targets, including 9 groups of targets exceeding the plan: Export turnover in 2025 is estimated to reach 9.208 billion USD; the number of workers created jobs is over 275,000 workers; the rate of agricultural workers in the total number of social workers decreased to 35%; the rate of trained workers increased to 72%; the rate of poor households according to the multidimensional poverty standard decreased to 0.81%;...

It is known that in the period of 2021 - 2025, the number of newly established enterprises increased by 1.42 times compared to the previous period, bringing the total number of actual operating enterprises in the province to 13,200 enterprises; the startup ecosystem was clearly formed, the province was honored as "Outstanding locality for building a startup ecosystem" in 2024.

Regarding administrative reform, Dong Thap province focuses on directioning strongly and synchronously implementing in all fields, creating clear changes in the quality of service for people and businesses; the level of satisfaction of people and businesses reaching over 80% has reflected the positive improvement in the attitude, style and service responsibility of authorities at all levels.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Dung affirmed that in the next 5 years (2026 - 2030), Dong Thap province will promote the strength of great national unity, arouse development aspirations and self-reliance, focus on rapid and sustainable economic development on the basis of effectively exploiting existing potential and advantages.
