Binh Ngo 2026 Tet bonuses in provinces and cities
By December 30, the Department of Home Affairs of provinces and cities will report on the salary and Tet bonus situation at enterprises to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Deputy Director of the Department of Salary and Social Insurance (Ministry of Home Affairs) Tong Van Lai said that the unit is still synthesizing to have specific data to report on the salary and Tet bonus situation this year at enterprises.
In Hai Phong, salaries and bonuses for Binh Ngo Tet have all increased compared to last year. Average salary reached 9.5 million VND, up 4% compared to 2024. The highest salary recorded at FDI enterprises is more than 420 million VND.
Nearly 4,300 enterprises plan to give Binh Ngo Tet bonuses of an average of VND7.36 million per person, an increase of VND278,000 compared to the Lunar New Year. Most businesses pay bonuses equivalent to one month's salary to employees.
The Department of Home Affairs of Bac Ninh province has compiled statistics on more than 1,300 enterprises employing 643,000 workers - equivalent to 80% in the area, giving an average salary of nearly 10 million VND per person per month. The highest salary belongs to FDI workers with 461 million VND per month.
The average Binh Ngo Tet bonus is 7.9 million VND, higher than the Lunar New Year. The lowest Tet bonus is only 100,000 VND; while the highest in the FDI sector is 400 million VND.
Quang Tri recorded the highest bonus for Binh Ngo Tet this year increasing by more than 50 million VND compared to the Lunar New Year, reaching 170 million VND. The lowest bonus is 200,000 VND, the average is 5.64 million VND.
Private enterprises continue to be the area with the widest Tet bonus range, reflecting a clear differentiation in production efficiency, business and labor compensation policies.
The average actual salary paid in the past year in this province reached 7.31 million VND, the highest was 120 million VND and the lowest was 3.45 million VND.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the highest bonus is for enterprises in the electronics - information technology industry; food processing; software development; real estate business... Small-scale manufacturing enterprises and enterprises using simple labor have lower bonuses.
For the 2026 Lunar New Year, the average bonus is about 1.93 million VND/person, an increase of 10.5% compared to the survey results of 2025 (1.75 million VND/person).
For the Lunar New Year 2026, the average bonus is about 12.02 million VND/person, an increase of 6.8% compared to the Lunar New Year 2025 (11.26 million VND/person).
Also according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs, the highest Lunar New Year bonus for an individual is 1.841 billion VND, belonging to a foreign-invested enterprise (FDI), down about 3.1% compared to the highest level of nearly 1.9 billion VND for Tet 2025.
In Nghe An, the Department of Home Affairs surveyed nearly 7,400 businesses, showing that the average salary in 2025 will reach 7.5 million VND per person per month, an increase of more than 6% compared to the previous year. The highest salary in some positions is 87 million VND, the lowest is 3.45 million VND.
The highest New Year's bonus is 40 million VND, the lowest is 100,000 VND, the average is 1.85 million VND. Statistics show that businesses pay Binh Ngo Tet bonuses with an average of 4.97 million VND.
The highest bonus belongs to FDI workers with 87 million VND, state-owned enterprises with 61.4 million VND, private enterprises with 45 million VND and state-owned enterprises with 25 million VND; the lowest level ranges from 0. 2-3,5 million VND.
