Prime Minister requests clarification of reasons for delays in digital transformation and Project 06

The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches, and localities to review the implementation of digital transformation and Project 06, and clarify the reasons for the delays of overdue tasks.

On the afternoon of March 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Government Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Project 06, chaired the second meeting of the Steering Committee in 2026.

The meeting is organized in a direct form at the Government headquarters, combined with online sessions with the Steering Committees of provinces and cities.

Attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Ministers: Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Bui Thanh Son, Ho Duc Phoc, Nguyen Chi Dung; leaders of ministries, central agencies and 34 provinces and cities; representatives of universities, science and technology enterprises, and banks.

Speaking at the opening, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the Steering Committee organized the second meeting in 2026 to review the implementation of the tasks set out at the previous meeting; propose tasks and solutions for the coming time; especially, implement the direction of General Secretary To Lam at the first meeting in 2026 of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation.

In which, the Prime Minister requested to review the development of core technologies, strategic technologies, build and connect databases; propose breakthrough solutions for the field of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06 to achieve double-digit growth, contributing to the whole country achieving the double-digit growth target.

Believing that besides the achieved results, digital transformation, administrative reform, database building and data connection still have limitations, the Prime Minister requested to review the implementation of specific tasks of the Steering Committee at ministries, branches, and localities; draw good lessons and valuable experiences that need to be replicated, as well as clearly point out limitations to overcome.

Stating that there are still some tasks set out by the Steering Committee that have expired, the Prime Minister requested delegates to discuss frankly, go straight to the issue, clarify the reasons for delays, difficulties, and obstacles, and who must be held responsible.
