Prime Minister sends letter of congratulations to Khmer people on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year of Chol Cham Thmay

In the letter, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wrote:

affectionate messages to: Compatriots, comrades and monks of the Khmer ethnic group

On the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year of Chol Cham, I would like to express my warmest and most sincere condolences to the people, comrades and monks of the Khmer ethnic group.

Among the 54 "sen flock" converging into a brilliant, fragrant "Vietnamese lotus", the "sen flock of more than 1.3 million Khmer people" is always an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc, contributing significantly to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland led by the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The culture of the Khmer people, including customs, traditional festivals... has unique value, rich in identity, enriching the colorful cultural picture of the Vietnamese people...

In 2025, the Khmer people will celebrate the traditional New Year in a more special atmosphere as the whole country is competing to achieve achievements to celebrate major holidays...

2025 is also the year of drastic implementation of the revolution in innovation, streamlining the apparatus of the political system, operating effectively and efficiently and reorganizing administrative units at all levels, the year marking the first establishment of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, continuing to affirm the attention of the Party and State for ethnic and religious work.

The whole country is working together to boil the momentum, make efforts, be unanimous, and determined to successfully carry out the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, towards the 14th National Party Congress with new confidence, new momentum, and new victory to create a foundation to bring the country into an era of national growth, prosperity, and development.

With that meaning, I suggest that all levels, sectors and localities be more determined and make more efforts, continue to concretize the policies and guidelines of the Party and State through practical and effective work and tasks; strengthen information, propaganda and synchronously deploy ethnic and religious strategies, programs, projects and policies, ensuring uninterruptedness, timeliness and efficiency, fully meeting the legitimate rights and interests of the people.

Continue to prioritize resources for comprehensive development, improving the material and spiritual life of the Khmer people; in which special attention is paid to the fields of health, education, culture; carry out the preservation and promotion of Khmer ethnic cultural identity associated with tourism development.

Strengthening the role of prestigious people, dignitaries, religious officials, human beings, intellectuals, and typical advanced examples among the Khmer people; arousing the will for self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-reliance, and national pride among the Khmer people, contributing to creating the combined strength of the great national unity bloc in the new era.

Prepare well the conditions for the Khmer people to celebrate the traditional Chol Cham Thmay Festival in 2025 in solidarity, joy, health, safety, economy, in accordance with the civilized lifestyle, customs, practices, traditions and good culture of the nation.

Despite many difficulties and challenges, when the Party's will has blended with the people's hearts, I believe that the people, comrades and the Khmer monks will continue to promote the good cultural features, the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of solidarity, strive to compete, work and produce, contributing to building a Vietnam "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization".

Once again, I would like to wish the Khmer people, comrades and monks a healthy, happy, prosperous New Year and many new victories.
