On January 15, the leader of the People's Committee of Tho Chau Special Zone (An Giang) said that the Department of Construction has just issued a document approving Superdong - Kien Giang Expressway Joint Stock Company to operate a fixed passenger transport route from shore to the island on the Phu Quoc - Tho Chau route and vice versa.
Accordingly, the Phu Quoc route to Tho Chau and vice versa will be operated by the Superdong V high-speed ship. This is a vehicle with modern technical specifications, ensuring maritime safety; 275 passenger capacity; total main engine capacity 1,518 KW.
The high-speed train from Phu Quoc - Tho Chau officially operates from January 19, the train operates at a frequency of 1 trip/day, from Monday to Saturday every week.
Specific departure time is Monday, Wednesday, Friday every week, leaving Bai Vong Port (Phu Quoc) at 10:30 a.m.; Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday every week, leaving Tho Chau Inland Water Port at 8:00 a.m.
According to the Department of Construction of An Giang, the licensing of the Superdong expressway ship to exploit the Phu Quoc - Tho Chau route and vice versa is based on the consensus of Kien Giang Maritime Port Authority to meet the travel and trade needs between Phu Quoc pearl island and Tho Chau access road island.
