Soc Trang plans to reduce from 108 to 43 communes and wards after the reorganization
Soc Trang - It is expected that after the arrangement, Soc Trang province will have 43 commune-level administrative units.
According to the Plan to reorganize grassroots administrative units in Soc Trang province, this locality will have 43 communes and wards (currently 108) after the reorganization (equivalent to 60.19%).
Accordingly, Soc Trang City will have 2 new wards: Soc Trang 1 ward (merging wards 1, 2, 3, 4, expected administrative center at Soc Trang City People's Committee) and Soc Trang 2 ward (merging wards 5, 6, 7, 8, expected administrative center at Ward 6 People's Committee). Ward 10 will be merged into My Xuyen town and Dai Tam commune to establish My Xuyen ward, with the administrative center expected to be located in My Xuyen town.
Vinh Chau town will have 3 wards: Vinh Phuoc ward (merging Vinh Phuoc ward and Vinh Tan commune), Vinh Chau ward (merging wards 1, 2 and Lac Hoa commune), Khanh Hoa ward (merging Khanh Hoa ward, Vinh Hiep commune and Hoa Dong commune) and 2 communes: Vinh Hai and Lai Hoa.
Nga Nam town is expected to have 2 wards: Nga Nam (merging wards 1, 2 and Vinh Quoi commune) and My Quoi (merging ward 3, My Binh commune, My Quoi commune) and Tan Long commune.
Ke Sach district after the arrangement is expected to have 6 communes. Tran De district plans to have 5 more communes. Chau Thanh, My Tu, My Xuyen, Long Phu districts are expected to have 4 communes each. Thanh Tri district has 3 communes and Cu Lao Dung district has 2 communes.
