The army mobilizes more than 268,000 officers, soldiers, 6 aircraft to respond to storm No. 13

On the afternoon of November 6, according to a report from the National Civil Defense Steering Committee, the Ministry of National Defense has directed Military Region 4, 5, 7 and units to be ready to maintain 268,255 officers and soldiers including soldiers: 68,095 people; militia: 200,200 trans fighters, to respond to storm No. 13.

Along with that, the Ministry of National Defense also mobilized 6,723 vehicles of all kinds, including 3,755 cars, 646 ships, 1,790 boats, canoes, 520 special vehicles, 6 aircraft on duty, ready for rescue missions.

Also according to the report of the Border Guard Command, as of 4:00 p.m. today, the border guards of provinces and cities on the coast from Thanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City have coordinated to notify, count, and guide 61,475 vehicles/291,384 people to know the developments and direction of storm Kalmaegi to proactively move, avoid, and escape from dangerous areas.

There are currently 3,978 ships with 24,098 people operating at sea (in the Gulf of Tonkin and the South China Sea); 57,497 ships with 267,286 people anchored at the ports.

All vehicles have received warning information and are moving around the bypass, no vehicles are left in the dangerous area.

According to the forecast of the meteorological agency, storm No. 13 is located right on the coast of Dak Lak to Quang Ngai provinces. Currently, the center of the storm is about 20km east-southeast of Quy Nhon coast. The current storm intensity, as determined by radar, is still as strong as level 13, down 2 levels compared to the afternoon.

It is forecasted that in the next 2 hours, the storm will weaken to below level 12. The wind speed measured on land in Phu Cat, Gia Lai is currently level 9, gusting to level 13, the wind speed is very strong. The strong wind is forecast to last from 5pm to 0am tonight, the strongest at level 12.
