The President's wife and Queen of Bhutan visit Tran Quoc Pagoda
The wife of President Luong Cuong and Queen Bhutan Jetsun Pema Wangchuck attended the praying ceremony at the main hall of Tran Quoc Pagoda.
Within the framework of the state visit of King Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and the Queen, on the morning of August 19, in Hanoi, President Luong Cuong's wife, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet and Queen Bhutan Jetsun Pema Wangchuck visited and offered incense at Tran Quoc Pagoda.
Welcoming Queen Bhutan at the gate of Tran Quoc Pagoda, First Lady, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her joy at welcoming Queen Bhutan Jetsun Pema Wangchuck. A large number of people and tourists present at the pagoda waved their hands and welcomed the President's wife and the Queen of Bhutan.
In the cool weather, the President's wife and the Queen of Bhutan slowly walked from the pagoda gate to the worship area, admiring the West Lake and the landscape of Tran Quoc Pagoda.

Venerable Thich Thanh Nha, abbot of Tran Quoc Pagoda welcomed the President's wife and Queen of Bhutan. The monk introduced the pagoda with a history of nearly 1,500 years and is considered the oldest in Thang Long - Hanoi; with harmonious ancient architecture, Tran Quoc pagoda is majestically located on the windy West Lake. The pagoda has been voted many times by international websites as one of the most beautiful pagodas in the world.
The abbot tree planted in the middle of the pagoda yard was extracted from the abbot tree at the Right Buddha's temple in Bodhgaya (India), presented by Indian President Rajendra Prasad to President Ho Chi Minh during his state visit to Vietnam in 1959.
After that, Venerable Thich Thanh Nha presented the President's wife and the Queen of Bhutan with artistically crafted belly leaf and seed lentils.

Appreciating the reception of the First Lady and Venerable Thich Thanh Nha, Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck shared that although Bhutan and Vietnam are geographically far apart and have differences in culture and people, both countries share a common belief in the values of Buddhism with the desire for peace, intelligence, tolerance and compassion.
The Queen expressed her honor to visit the ancient pagoda in Hanoi, listen to the sermon and share of the abbot and hope to be welcomed in the future and the Vietnamese monks will visit Bhutan.
Queen of Bhutan has presented the pagoda with a hand-painted painting of Buddha and handmade incense products of Bhutan.
After that, the President's wife and Queen of Bhutan attended the Prayer Ceremony at the main hall of Tran Quoc Pagoda according to the spiritual rituals of Vietnamese Buddhism.
