The General Secretary requested that the fight against corruption, waste and negativity must be carried out persistently, regularly, and absolutely not done in a movement-style manner.
Internal affairs work must be correct, timely, timely and humane
On the morning of January 5, in Hanoi, the Central Internal Affairs Commission held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Home Affairs industry's tradition day (January 5, 1996 - January 5, 2026) and received the Ho Chi Minh Medal for the second time.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that over the past 60 years, the Party's Home Affairs sector has always maintained its role as the Party's specialized agency, being one of the particularly important pillars, contributing to maintaining the Party's discipline, the State's laws and the people's trust.
The General Secretary pointed out that our country is entering a new stage of development with the aspiration to rise strongly, and at the same time has to face many intertwined difficulties and challenges.
The requirement to build a clean and strong Party and political system; build a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people, for the people; fight against corruption, waste and negativity; firmly protect national security, maintain social order and safety; create a safe and healthy environment for the country to develop rapidly and sustainably is posing a very heavy task for the Party's Home Affairs sector.
The General Secretary suggested that in the new era of development, the Party's Home Affairs sector must continue to promote its glorious tradition; constantly innovate thinking, methods and ways of doing; elevate strategic consulting; firmly play a good role as a "guard" for the Party in the field of internal affairs, preventing and combating corruption, waste, negativity and judicial reform.
The General Secretary requested the Party's Internal Affairs sector to deeply grasp the spirit of: doing internal affairs work is not only right, but must be successful; not only timely, but must be proactive; not only strict, but also humane.
The Party's Internal Affairs sector improves the quality of research, forecasting and strategic consultation. It is necessary to deeply recognize the goal of internal affairs work as maintaining political stability, social order and safety, keeping it "warm and calm", best serving the task of socio-economic development, building a clean and strong Party and political system; proactively detecting, researching, and advising on timely handling major, new, and difficult issues; focusing on advising on concretizing and institutionalizing policies and viewpoints on internal affairs, preventing and combating corruption, waste, negativity and judicial reform in the 14th National Party Congress Documents; correctly identifying and accurately identifying key points and breakthrough points to effectively realize the "four no's" motto in preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity; in building and perfecting the Socialist State of Vietnam in the new period.
Preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity regularly and continuously
The General Secretary requested that the Party's Home Affairs sector advise to promote and create stronger, more effective and more sustainable changes in the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity. This is a strategic, long-term task that must be carried out persistently, regularly, continuously, continuously, without stopping; absolutely not following the movement style.
The Party's internal affairs sector must be the embodiment of the Party's determination in the fight against corruption, waste and negativity "no forbidden areas, no exceptions", "all people are equal before the law", a symbol of strengthening people's trust in the Party, the State and the regime.
Promote the role of the Standing Agency, truly as a "center", "connecting", "key" in consulting, regulating, and coordinating; at the same time, attach importance to preventing and combating waste to free up and effectively use resources for national development.
The General Secretary noted that special attention should be paid to the work of building a clean, strong, and truly honest Party Internal Affairs sector; building a team of loyal, steadfast cadres and civil servants with steadfast political will, need-keep-clear-right, and impartiality; having the courage to protect the right, resolutely fighting against the wrong; having in-depth knowledge of the field of internal affairs, preventing and combating corruption, waste, negativity and judicial reform; truly being the reliable support of the Party and a solid bridge between the Party and the people.
