Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly visits and works in Dien Bien
Dien Bien - On April 24, Senior Lieutenant General Suvon Luongbunmi - Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly and the working delegation visited and worked in the province.
Assume the prime responsibility for welcoming and working with Lieutenant General SUVONBUNMI, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the mission of the Lao National Assembly, Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee; leaders of People's Councils and People's Committees; Representatives of 4 districts have border bordering the Northern Laos provinces.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Thanh Do - Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee informed the results of friendly cooperation activities in the fields of economy, culture - society, national defense and security and people's foreign affairs that have been implemented by the province and 5 northern provinces of Laos.
In particular (from August 2022 to present), the total import-export turnover of goods, services and border trade exchange activities between Dien Bien province and the three provinces (Phong-sa-ly, U-dom-xay, Luong-pha-bang) is estimated at over 140 million USD, of which imports from Laos reached over 50 million USD.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly - emphasized that the mission to implement the memorandum of understanding of the cooperation between the National Assembly of the two countries signed in 2024 and implement the results of the talks.
Vice Chairman of Lao National Assembly - expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people continue to achieve many new and greater achievements in the renovation process, successfully implementing the XIII Congress goals.
Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong - respectfully thanked the delegation for their visit and suggested that the Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly pay attention, direct and support the Northern Lao provinces and Dien Bien province to increase exchanges and cooperation.
Mr. Cuong also emphasized the importance of coordinating the fight against crime and maintaining security and order in the border area between Dien Bien province and Phong-sa-ly province and Luong-pha-bang province.
