How long are workers entitled to pension
How long the pension is paid depends on many factors that employees should not ignore.
Just enough 15 years of social insurance contributions
According to Article 64 of the Law on Social Insurance (SI) 2024, employees who quit their jobs if they have paid compulsory social insurance for 15 years or more and are of retirement age as prescribed will receive a pension.
This regulation applies to the majority of employees working in normal conditions as well as many other groups of employees according to the Law. This is a legal right of employees after participating in and paying social insurance for a long time, to ensure their lives when they are no longer able to work.
Pensions are paid until the beneficiary passes away
The pension regime consists of two stages: the payment stage and the benefit stage. The payment period takes place during the time the employee works and participates in social insurance; the benefit period starts from the employee's retirement and lasts until that person passes away.
According to the provisions of the Law on Social Insurance 2024 and Decree 135/2020/ND-CP, pensioners will be:
Receive a monthly pension for life
To be issued a free health insurance card
Enjoy benefits and policies for retirees
When will pension be stopped?
According to Article 75 of the Law on Social Insurance 2024, pension benefits are only terminated when falling into one of the following cases:
The beneficiary died or was declared dead by the Court
Beneficiaries voluntarily refuse to receive pension in writing
Concluded to receive social insurance in violation of regulations
In addition to these cases, there is no limit on the number of years of pension.
Thus, there is no limit on the number of years of pension for employees. Employees will receive monthly pension until it is no longer available (except for cases where the subsidy is suspended or terminated according to regulations).
