People are happy when Phong Chau bridge piers are revealed

The project to build the new Phong Chau bridge - National Highway 32C, Phu Tho province will be implemented from the end of 2024 according to the Emergency Construction Order. This is an important project, both meaningful in ensuring traffic and economic development, and of noble humanitarian significance.

Promoting the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, in recent months, the construction unit, Army Corps 12 - Truong Son Construction Corporation, has made efforts to overcome difficulties, overtime, increased shifts, during holidays, holidays... to simultaneously dismantle the old Phong Chau bridge and build a new bridge.

Up to now, the work of dismantling the steel truss system of span 5 and demolishing 2 abutments and 4 pillars of the old Phong Chau bridge has been completed.

In particular, after the completion of one of the most difficult and important items, the bored piles on and under the river, was completed ahead of schedule, very quickly, the new bridge piers were built, the first girders were installed.

The image of officers, engineers, workers and laborers of Truong Son Construction Corporation working hard day and night to build the new Phong Chau bridge has left a deep impression on the people.

Now, when the bridge has been built with pillars and started installing girders, the government and people expressed the most joy.

On the way to the river to return to her maternal hometown in Ba Vi district (Hanoi), stopping at the Phong Chau bridgehead in Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district, Ms. Phung Thi Phuong Thu - a resident of Xuan Huy commune, Lam Thao district - exclaimed: "My husband and I go here every week to return to our maternal hometown. Every time we pass by and see the construction of a new bridge with new progress and new forms, we are very excited, proud and absolutely believe that the army will build a new Phong Chau bridge to ensure quality and progress".

Mr. Bui Van Tuyen - the owner of a business shop at the Phong Chau bridgehead in Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district - shared: "This place used to be the busiest place in the district, but since the bridge collapsed, hundreds of businesses along National Highway 32 from Huong Non commune to Co Tiet intersection have been affected. However, the new bridge is being built very quickly, people are very happy, and feel grateful to the army and workers. They have worked regardless of the sun or rain, day or night, during holidays and holidays...".

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Trieu Cong Hoan - Chairman of Van Xuan Commune People's Committee - said that since the Phong Chau bridge collapse incident (September 9, 2024), work such as dismantling, salvaging the old bridge and now the construction of a new bridge has always received the attention and facilitation of local people.

"In the work of site clearance to build a new bridge, people are not worried about anything but completely agree and support. Other jobs when the army needs them, people are always ready to support and create conditions... The project assigned to the army is very secure and creates consensus among the people, everyone is happy to see the new bridge being built, hopefully the project will be completed soon, meeting the people's expectations".
