Nghe An accelerates supply, tightens "brokers" of social housing to protect workers
Nghe An - Labor entering industrial parks is increasing rapidly, the province is accelerating the development of social housing, tightening distribution management to ensure sustainable social security.
Accelerate social housing supply
On February 11, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded in the area around Bac Vinh Industrial Park (Vinh Hung ward, Nghe An province), many rows of boarding houses along Dang Thai Mai street are fully booked, the common rental price is 1.3 - 2 million VND/month. Along with the momentum of FDI attraction, the number of workers flocking to industrial parks is increasing rapidly, leading to an increasing demand for affordable accommodation.

Ms. L.T. H (24 years old, a worker at a garment company) said that her average income is 8 - 10 million VND/month, of which rent and electricity and water account for nearly 1/3. "If I have affordable social housing with good infrastructure, I want to register for long-term stability," she said.
Faced with increased labor pressure, Nghe An has proactively promoted the development of social housing. In 2025, the province will complete about 2,500 units, nearly double the target assigned by the Government. To date, 41 social housing projects have been approved in principle and approved for detailed planning, with a total area of about 107 hectares, expected to provide about 36,000 apartments when completed.
Notably, at the beginning of February 2026, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee agreed on the policy of investing in a complex of apartments and social housing in Vinh Phu - Vinh Loc with a total capital of more than 3,500 billion VND, with a scale of about 2,005 social housing units, serving about 9,000 people. The project is synchronously planned with schools, health stations, cultural centers and technical infrastructure, aiming to form a complete functional urban area.
At the same time, many FDI enterprises also invest in worker accommodation areas. At Luxshare ICT (VSIP Nghe An), thousands of workers have been arranged accommodation in accommodation areas built by enterprises.
Tighten management, ensure the right subjects
Along with increasing supply, Nghe An focuses on strictly controlling the review and distribution stages. The Provincial People's Committee has issued Document No. 14491/UBND-CN implementing Directive No. 34/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, requiring full disclosure of project information, temporary selling price, dossier receipt time and list of buyers to serve post-inspection.
The Provincial Police are assigned to strictly handle illegal brokers and "brokers" of social housing; investors must organize public draws when dossiers exceed the number of units, and prohibit collecting deposits outside regulations. People's Committees of communes and wards establish hotlines to receive feedback from people.
According to a representative of the Nghe An Department of Construction, the goal is to ensure transparency, prevent policy profiteering, and help workers who really need to access suitable housing.
The synchronous development of urban social housing and worker dormitories is creating an important foundation for Nghe An to retain labor, improve quality of life and increase investment attractiveness.
In the context of the number of workers in industrial zones and clusters continuing to increase, the housing problem is not only a short-term need but also a long-term strategy. With the momentum of supply acceleration and strict management mechanisms, Nghe An is gradually proactively solving the social housing problem, towards the goal of industrial development associated with sustainable social security.
