Improving the quality of policy making, combating the risk of falling behind

Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized this requirement at the Conference to summarize the work in 2025 and deploy the work tasks in 2026 of the Central Committee for Policy and Strategy, on December 26.

Speaking at the Conference, orienting a number of key tasks in the coming time, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu requested to clearly identify the role, tasks and importance of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee in the new development stage of the country.

Maintain the principles and leadership role of the Party; steadfastly and creatively apply Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology; preserve and promote solidarity and unity in the Party Committee.

Strongly innovate thinking and action, improve strategic consulting skills, improve research, analysis and forecasting capacity, especially in the face of major world trends to promptly advise and propose policies and solutions to serve the Party's leadership and direction on socio-economics in the coming time.

The Standing Secretariat of Tran Cam Tu requested to promote theoretical research, summarize practical work, and promptly advise the Party and State in planning policies, guidelines, and policies; in developing a socialist-oriented market economy.

The Central Policy and Strategy Committee needs to promote its core role in organizing, guiding, and coordinating the implementation of strategic research activities; improving the quality of summarizing models and models; proactively cooperating internationally, learning from good development experiences in the world; forecasting and promptly grasping regional and international socio-economic and political fluctuations, trends in developing science and technology, technical advances and security challenges, especially non-traditional security.

From there, lessons are drawn, arguments for policy and strategy proposals. The study must always closely follow the practical requirements of the country, contributing to concretizing and deepening the development theory of the Party in the new period.

The Standing Secretariat stated that it is necessary to always set a requirement to "go one step ahead" in research and consultation to contribute to improving the quality of policy making, combating the risk of falling behind; combating socialist deviation, meeting the increasingly high needs of people without losing equality, ensuring a harmonious and comprehensive balance of development.

As the Party's Strategic Advisory Board, we must first of all do a good job in Party building, especially in politics, ideology, ethics; organization and inspection, supervision, and Party discipline. The Party Committee's cadres and members must be those who are steadfast in their stance and ideology; have a firm grasp of all policies and guidelines of the Party, especially in socio-economic development; and take the lead in implementing the Party's Resolutions, especially important strategic resolutions" - the Standing Committee of the Secretariat emphasized.

The Standing Secretariat also requires focusing on building and training a team of cadres and party members who are truly exemplary in political qualities, ethics, lifestyle, have steadfastness, are good at their profession, and are dedicated to their work; focus on training and building a team of high-level, in-depth research, creating connections and taking advantage of the gray material of competent and dedicated intellectuals, experts, and scientists.
