In 2026, Dak Lak aims for double-digit GRDP growth

BẢO TRUNG (báo lao động) 25/12/2025 16:18 (GMT+7)

Dak Lak - Although the plan for 2025 has not been completed, the province is determined to set a GRDP growth target for 2026 at 10% (an increase of nearly 3.32%).

On December 24, the 2nd Session of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Council voted to pass a resolution on the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in 2026.

In 2026, the locality strives for the gross regional domestic product (GRDP - according to the comparison price in 2010) to increase by 10% or more compared to the estimate in 2025.

Accordingly, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 5.86%; industry - construction increased by 18.14% (of which industry increased by 15.25%; construction increased by 23.4%); services increased by 9.6%; product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 6.02%.

Regarding the GRDP structure at current prices, agriculture, forestry and fishery account for 35.48%; industry - construction account for 20.66%; services account for 40.24%; product tax (except for product subsidies) accounts for 3.61%.

The average GDP per capita is about 92 million VND/person. In particular, total social investment capital is expected to reach VND80,390 billion, accounting for about 30% of total GRDP.

The Dak Lak Provincial People's Council's vote to approve the GRDP growth target of 10% or more shows the great determination of the entire local political system in the coming year.

However, looking at current practice, achieving double-digit growth is an extremely heavy task.

Looking back at the economic picture in 2025, the locality has completed 14/16 socio-economic targets. However, the very important indicator is the economic growth rate that did not meet expectations.

The main reasons are complicated natural disasters, slow progress in public investment disbursement... GRDP growth rate in 2025 is estimated at 6.68%, lower than the plan of 8%.

Although the growth plan for 2025 has not been completed, the locality still sets a GRDP growth target of up to 10% in 2026.

To achieve this goal, Dak Lak must first disburse 100% of public investment capital from the central and local governments (including transitional capital from 2025).

At the same time, tasks such as digital transformation, site clearance for key projects, land auctions, investment attraction, etc. need to be accelerated, ensuring compliance with the plan.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a delegate of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Council frankly said: "The locality has not yet completed the planned GRDP growth rate, first of all, it is necessary to take responsibility and review organizations and units that have not completed their tasks, especially in the disbursement of public investment capital.

In addition, it is necessary to clearly identify weaknesses and limitations to promptly overcome and improve, thereby developing specific plans and roadmaps to achieve the growth target in 2026".

According to this delegate, with the current remaining limitations, the GRDP growth target of 10% is a heavy task, creating great pressure on departments, branches and project investors.

Without drastic solutions, handling existing problems at the root such as timely capital allocation, accelerating site clearance... it will be very difficult to achieve the set goals.

In addition, land auctions, land tax collection and investment attraction also need to be implemented more effectively and drastically to contribute to overall growth, although this is still a field with many difficulties and limitations.

In 2026, the total public investment capital of Dak Lak province is expected to be over VND 14,000 billion. In 2025, the locality was allocated about 13,000 billion VND in public investment capital. By December 2025, the disbursement rate of public investment capital had not reached 50% of the plan.
