Roadmap for completing the 5,800 billion VND expressway in Thai Nguyen
Thai Nguyen - The Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway project is being accelerated, according to the roadmap expected to open to traffic in 2026.
On January 15, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh inspected the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi Expressway Construction Investment Project and the preparation for the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi Expressway Completion Project.
For the Cho Moi - Bac Kan project, the length is 28.8 km, with a total investment of nearly 5,800 billion VND. According to the investor's report, up to now, the contract value has been implemented at 11.5%. The disbursement of capital in 2025 for the construction package by December 31, 2025 reached 93%.
Project Management Board 2 (investor) will coordinate with contractors to commit to progress milestones. Strive to basically complete the foundation in June 2026; the structure of the underpass in October 2026; open the entire route to traffic in 2026.
For the CT.07 Expressway Complete Investment Project, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section under the PPP form, 202 km long.
Including: Hanoi - Thai Nguyen section from Ring Road III intersection (Km8+500) to Tan Long intersection and Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section from Tan Long intersection to Thanh Binh intersection (Thanh Thinh commune, Thai Nguyen). The total investment is about VND19,000 billion.
The Ministry of Construction has issued an official dispatch agreeing to assign the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province as the competent authority to organize research and investment in the completion of the CT.07 expressway section Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi under the public-private partnership method.
Directing at the site, Minister Tran Hong Minh acknowledged the efforts of the units in implementing the projects.
At the same time, it is recommended that for the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway project, promptly resolve arising problems, strive to open the entire route to traffic in 2026.
The CT.07 expressway investment project, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section, units have completed procedures to start construction soon around May 2026.
