Latest pension and social insurance allowance payment schedule: No payment in March 2026
The pension and social insurance allowance payment schedule has changed due to the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday lasting 9 consecutive days.
As Tet approaches, many pensioners and social insurance beneficiaries are waiting for the payment period for February and March to have more money to shop for Tet preparation.
Mr. Le Van Binh (Son Tay Ward - Hanoi) said that his children all work far away, only the two of them are in the countryside together, so both of them hope that the most suitable shopping for Tet will be done before the children return home for Tet so that they can feel secure and the family atmosphere will be cozy.
"My children all work far from home, we all have pensions and subsidies, so at the end of the year we want to buy stockings to repair socks so that they can feel secure. Knowing the 2-month lump sum payment schedule, we are very happy and are waiting for the day to receive it" - Mr. Binh shared.
Regarding this issue, the Vietnam Social Security previously issued instructions on the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for the payment period of January, February, March 2026.
Pursuant to Decree 233/2025/ND-CP on financial mechanisms on social insurance (SI), unemployment insurance (UI), health insurance (HI), only organize and operate social insurance, UBHN, health insurance; Notice 12590/TB-BNV in 2025 on the exchange of working days during the 2026 New Year's holiday for cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees of state administrative agencies, public service units and enterprises, Notice 9441/TB-BNV in 2025 on Lunar New Year and National Day holidays in 2026 for cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees;
To ensure full and timely payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January, February and March 2026 to beneficiaries, Vietnam Social Insurance has issued an official dispatch guiding the implementation of a number of contents as follows:
On the organization of monthly pension and social insurance allowance payments
Payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for February and March 2026: Social insurance of provinces will pay a combined payment of 2 months of pensions and social insurance benefits (February and March 2026) in the same period as the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for February 2026 (including beneficiaries receiving in cash and receiving through personal accounts).
For the 4 Social Insurance agencies of Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong - Social Insurance of the provinces, pensions and social insurance benefits have been paid according to Official Dispatch 3145/BHXH-TCKT in 2025 on the combined payment of 3 months of pensions and social insurance benefits (December 2025, January and February 2026).
Pay pensions and social insurance benefits for March 2026 in the payment period of February 2026 for these 4 provinces.
According to the direction of Vietnam Social Insurance, provincial Social Insurance will pay 2 months of pension and allowance (February, March 2026) in the same period as the pension and social insurance allowance for February 2026 (including beneficiaries receiving in cash and receiving through personal accounts).
Thus, there will be no pension payment period for employees in March 2026 because the March pension has been paid in the same period as the February pension payment period in 2026 for employees (including beneficiaries receiving in cash and receiving through personal accounts).
