Khanh Hoa aims to strive to become a centrally-governed city by 2027, about 3 years earlier than the determined roadmap.
On the afternoon of January 15, at a regular press conference, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien - Permanent Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that the goal of becoming a centrally-governed city by 2027 demonstrates the great political determination of the locality.
According to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, in 2025, despite facing many difficulties and challenges due to the general economic context and the impact of natural disasters, the locality will still achieve many positive results. The province has completed and exceeded 21/22 main socio-economic targets.
Specifically, the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 7.11%; State budget revenue achieved a high growth rate, exceeding the estimate assigned by the Central Government by more than 39% and increasing by over 53% compared to 2024.
Investment attraction continues to be a bright spot when in 2025, Khanh Hoa has licensed 86 non-budgetary investment projects, with a total registered capital of more than 503 trillion VND.
Many large-scale projects in the industrial sector, industrial parks and urban areas have been implemented, contributing to the formation of new growth pillars for the locality.
At the same time, Khanh Hoa province proactively builds and completes specific mechanisms and policies, including the free trade zone project and policies to develop Van Phong Economic Zone, to create room and momentum for growth in the coming period.
Entering 2026, Khanh Hoa sets a double-digit growth target, with GRDP increasing by 1011%, aiming for the target of GRDP growth in the period of 20262030 to reach 1112%, creating a solid foundation to soon become a centrally-run city.
The provincial leaders affirmed that the goal of becoming a centrally-governed city by 2027 is not only an administrative destination.
This is also a driving force for Khanh Hoa to continue to innovate the growth model, improve governance capacity and sustainable development, worthy of being an international service and sea tourism center and an important growth pole of the country in the coming time.
