Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs breaks through at the end of the year, the beginning of the year is bustling

According to the Customs Branch of Region VII, by December 31, 2025, the budget revenue of Lao Cai International Border Gate Customs reached 97% of the target assigned by the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, reaching 115.4% of the target assigned by the Customs Department.

In particular, in the last 4 months of 2025, revenue reached VND451.7 billion, up 68% over the same period in 2024 and up 129.7% over 2023, showing strong growth in import-export activities in the area.

The main export items include dragon fruit, durian, fabric, cassava, wood, coffee, shoes; mainly imported items include vegetables, machinery, mechanical equipment, steel, chemicals, fertilizers - serving production, construction and development of the local economy.

Compared to previous years, the budget revenue results in 2025 recorded a clear breakthrough when exceeding the revenue level of the years 2020 to 2024. Specifically, in 2020, it reached VND 948.2 billion; in 2021, it reached VND 928.7 billion; in 2022, it reached VND 549.5 billion; in 2023, it reached VND 576.3 billion and in 2024, it reached VND 817.6 billion.

Also according to the record, on the first day of the new year 2026, the import and export of goods at Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II (Kim Thanh Border Gate) was very bustling. Each convoy of agricultural products took turns completing customs clearance procedures to the Chinese market, carrying the expectation of a favorable trade year and showing a positive signal for import-export activities.

To quickly complete customs clearance procedures, customs forces at the border gate have deployed synchronous and scientific inspection and supervision work, both ensuring safety and helping goods circulate quickly, limiting waiting time for businesses.

At the same time, functional forces at the border gate deploy the task of coordinating smoothly, ensuring security, order, controlling the quality of agricultural products, implementing trade regulations and supporting businesses in handling procedures, helping import and export goods to be cleared quickly, in order and safely.

Export activities have been smooth, while the import afternoon also recorded many shipments being cleared quickly. On January 1, 2026, a shipment of 25 dump trucks completed the procedures themselves, bringing in nearly 10 billion VND from the state budget.

The imported shipments of mechanical equipment and machinery were also cleared, helping businesses to promptly implement the production and business plan at the beginning of the year.
