The economic corridor project in Gia Lai is about to reach the finish line
Gia Lai - Gia Lai economic corridor project, with a length of more than 15 km and a total investment of over 1,300 billion VND, is preparing to open to technical traffic.
On December 27, the Gia Lai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the economic corridor project has a total investment of 1,325 billion VND, of which the central budget supports 900 billion VND, the remaining 425 billion VND is allocated from the provincial budget.
The budget for construction and installation alone accounts for nearly 900 billion VND. The eastern economic corridor route is 15.14 km long, directly connecting National Highway 19 with National Highway 14 (Ho Chi Minh Road).
When completed, the route will open a new traffic axis, contributing to reducing the load on existing routes, while enhancing the ability to connect localities in the province, expanding development space for Pleiku urban area.

Notably, this route passes through many famous landmarks of Gia Lai such as the Sea of tea Lake, the Sea of Water Lake and the Chu Dang Ya volcanic area. Therefore, in addition to the role of serving traffic, the project is also expected to facilitate tourism development, attract investment, and effectively exploit the unique landscape and cultural potential of the locality.
According to the plan, by the end of December 2025, the project will be completed for technical traffic. This is a milestone implemented under the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son during his recent working trip to Gia Lai province, demonstrating the Central Government's interest in key infrastructure projects in Gia Lai.
Recently, project implementation has also encountered many difficulties, especially due to the decline in revenue from land use fees of the province, leading to delays in allocating capital from local budgets at times.
However, Gia Lai province has focused on removing obstacles, while strongly directing relevant units to speed up construction progress and disburse public investment capital.
Along with cutting administrative procedures, Gia Lai is making efforts to promote the implementation of key infrastructure projects, considering this an important driving force to promote economic growth, enhance competitiveness and gradually realize the set development goals.
