On the occasion of April 30 - May 1, Hanoi increases buses, tightens public transport safety
Hanoi The Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center has just planned to organize public passenger transport during the April 30 - May 1, 2025 holiday.
According to the Center's representative, the plan aims to best meet the travel needs of people during the holidays celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and International Labor Day (May 1), while ensuring security, order, and traffic safety for passengers on the bus as well as at bus stations, starting and ending points, parking lots and transit points.
This year's holiday lasts for 5 days (from April 30 to May 4, 2025), and the travel demand of people is expected to increase. Traffic volume is concentrated on main roads connecting the city center with neighboring provinces, tourist areas and commercial centers, which can cause congestion. The demand for travel on bus routes connecting bus stations, terminals, tourist attractions, and shopping malls is also forecast to increase compared to normal days.
During the holiday, the unit plans to increase 38 bus routes with 76 vehicles, equivalent to 170 trips/day.
The Traffic Management and Operation Center requires public passenger transport businesses to strengthen inspection and supervision of bus operations to improve service quality. Units must renovate and maintain vehicles to ensure technical and aesthetic safety; prepare adequate spare equipment and complete work before the holiday.
At the same time, it is necessary to check and equip the vehicle with fire prevention and fighting equipment to ensure safe operation of the vehicle. Units must prepare vehicles, human resources, tickets, and reserve operating orders; distribute enough tickets to avoid shortages during operation; arrange forces on duty at the beginning of routes to promptly issue tickets when there is a sudden increase in demand.
In addition, the Center requires propaganda and education for drivers and ticket sellers to improve service quality, strictly comply with route operations regulations, comply with traffic laws and ensure a civilized and polite service attitude.
Regarding management, units must arrange human resources to closely follow the situation at the wharves and hot spots on the route, proactively coordinate means of passenger clearance quickly and safely, ensuring security, order and efficiency.
In addition, the Center will closely coordinate with the authorities of Hanoi City and the Department of Construction in traffic diversion, regulation, and passenger clearance at bus stations, terminals, and airports. When required by the Department of Construction or the Center, units must be ready to mobilize additional vehicles to ensure safety and order in passenger transport.
For Hanoi Railway Company Limited, urban railway lines No. 2A and 3.1 will be organized and operated according to plan, ensuring safety and smoothness. At the same time, the unit needs to strengthen inspection and supervision of service quality, arrange enough human resources and means to be ready to increase trips when required, in order to promptly release passengers during peak times.
