Proposal to support student development funds when tightening extra teaching

After Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDDT regulating extra classes of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) took effect from February 14, localities across the country issued guiding documents, requiring schools to strictly implement the regulations.

In Hanoi, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training issued Official Letter 362/SGDDT-VP on the implementation of Circular 29. In which, teachers and schools are required to seriously and fully implement the contents and promptly report and inform the Department of Education and Training (through the Department of Secondary Education) about difficulties and problems.

Sharing more views on Circular 29, Mr. Tran The Cuong - Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training - said that Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT has many positive points, suitable for the current time. Including regulations: No extra teaching or learning for primary school students, except for cases of training in arts, physical education, life skills training; no extra teaching for students who have been taught by the school for 2 sessions/day.

extra teaching and learning in schools is not subject to fees from students and is only for 3 subjects, which are the school's responsibility: Students with consecutive results in post-school subjects at the unsatisfactory level; students selected by the school to train excellent students and students of the final grade who voluntarily register to review for entrance exams and graduation exams according to the school's education plan.

Implementing the Ministry of Education and Training's request to organize for senior students to increase the review of entrance exams and graduation exams according to the school's education plan, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training is proposing that competent authorities and the City People's Council issue a resolution to support tuition fees for review students.

Mr. Tran The Cuong commented that in order for the new circular on tutoring to become practical and effective, the synchronous implementation of solutions, including strengthening propaganda, mobilization, guidance for cadres, teachers, students, parents and other forces, must be implemented.
