Dak Lak promotes green economy, using renewable energy as a pillar
Dak Lak - renewable energy is a growth strategy to contribute to national energy security and sustainable development.
On January 12, information from the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak province - said that the province is focusing resources to realize the goal of becoming a clean energy production and export center, making an important contribution to national energy security.
According to the adjusted VIII Power Plan and Resolution 70-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Dak Lak identifies renewable energy as a strategic growth driver.
In the 2025-2030 period, the province plans to develop 90 new projects with a total capacity of 7,780.5 MW. The focus is on 27 concentrated solar power projects with a total capacity of 4,314 MW and 42 wind power projects with a total capacity of 2,796 MW, 6 thermal power projects with a total capacity of 285 MW, 3 domestic waste treatment and power generation plant projects with a total capacity of 34 MW.
With a vision to the period of 2031 - 2035, the province will continue to plan 33 more projects with a total capacity of 6,183 MW.
In the 2025-2030 term, the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee is determined to develop industry according to the circular economy model and green growth.
The province will prioritize attracting investment in high-tech, environmentally friendly projects, while effectively implementing the renewable energy certificate (REC) market.
Also according to the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak province, the whole province has affirmed its position with a diverse power source system.
Of which, hydropower plants have 25 plants in operation with a capacity of 1,223.67 MW; solar power has 16 projects connecting to the grid and more than 6,500 roofing systems, total capacity over 2,360 MWp; wind power has 2 projects operating with a capacity of 428.8 MW and 4 projects with a capacity of 200 MW ready to join the grid;communication power, currently put into operation in phase 1 with a capacity of 30 MW.
