General Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized the role of "bridge" between the Party and the People

On April 18, in Can Tho City, General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Head of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army attended the Meeting Program of village elders, village heads, hamlet heads, neighborhood heads, prestigious people, religious dignitaries in the Southern region in 2026.

The South is an area with a particularly important strategic position in terms of economy, culture - society, national defense, and security. From ancient times, village elders, village chiefs, hamlet chiefs, and zone chiefs have been representatives of the community, preserving customs and laws, and protecting village discipline.

In the resistance wars against foreign invaders, under the leadership of the Party, many people directly mobilized the People to participate in the revolution, protect and hide cadres, build bases, making important contributions to the victory of the nation.

Today, in the cause of renovation, construction and defense of the Fatherland, village elders, village heads, hamlet heads, and influential people, religious dignitaries continue to promote their role as "bridges connecting the Party's will with the people's hearts", setting an example in propagating and mobilizing the People to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws; preserving and promoting national cultural identity.

Speaking at the program, General Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that in the past 5 years, with the attention of the Central Government, the efforts of Party committees, authorities, armed forces and people, the South has achieved many important results in the fields of economy, culture - society, national defense, and security.

With prestige and responsibility, village elders, village chiefs, prestigious people and religious dignitaries have actively mobilized the people to comply with the law, maintain security and order, protect borders and contribute to the struggle to defeat the plot to divide the great national unity bloc. These contributions are very commendable and need to be recognized and praised.

General Nguyen Trong Nghia requested that village elders, village heads, hamlet heads, area heads, prestigious people, religious dignitaries in the Southern region continue to promote their roles, prestige and influence in propagating and mobilizing people and believers to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, especially strategic guidelines with revolutionary and breakthroughs in the new development era of the country.

Actively participate in building the political system in the locality; promote socio-economic development, sustainable poverty reduction; build a national defense posture associated with the People's Security posture, a solid "people's heart posture"; make practical and effective contributions to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

Previously, General Nguyen Trong Nghia and the working delegation offered incense and flowers at the Hung Kings Temple in Can Tho City; visited and presented gifts to Can Tho Specialized Education School; visited and worked with Security Team 2 (Department of Security Protection of the Army) and Regiment 917 (Division 370, Air Defense - Air Force Service).
