General Nguyen Trong Nghia offers incense to commemorate at Tran Hung Dao forest relic
Cao Bang - General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - has just offered incense to commemorate at the Tran Hung Dao forest relic.
On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and the 36th anniversary of the National Defense Day, on the morning of December 21, a delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense led by General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Chairman of the Central Military Commission's Inspection Committee - as head of the delegation - offered flowers and incense to commemorate General Vo Nguyen Giap and 34 soldiers of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army at the Tran Hung Dao National Special Forest Relic Site (Tam Kim commune).
The delegation included leaders of Military Region 1, agencies under the Ministry of National Defense; leaders of Cao Bang province and local departments, branches and sectors.
At the relic site - where the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army was established on December 22, 1944 - the predecessors of the Vietnam People's Army - the delegates expressed their deep gratitude to General Vo Nguyen Giap - the first Commander-in-Chief of the Army, who made great contributions to the revolutionary cause and two resistance wars of the nation.
Signing the golden souvenir book, General Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the entire army pledged to be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party, the State and the People; determined to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Vietnam People's Army.
After the incense offering ceremony, the delegation visited the accommodation and activities of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army and planted a memorial tree at the relic site.
On this occasion, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 1 and Cao Bang province presented 60 gifts to policy families and outstanding meritorious people in Tam Kim commune. General Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that the locality continue to pay attention to investing in socio-economic development, associated with improving people's lives, taking good care of the military rear policy.
