Election work sets higher, more comprehensive and strict requirements

That is the sharing of Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Truong Hai Long at the national online conference to train professional skills in the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and deputies of People's Councils (HĐND) at all levels for the 2026-2031 term organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs on February 4.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Truong Hai Long said that the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term is a major political event of the country in 2026 right after the success of the 14th Party Congress.

The election is a great festival of the whole people, showing the people's right to mastery, selecting and electing National Assembly and People's Council deputies with virtue and talent to bring the country into a new era, an era of national rise; at the same time, the election is also a vivid measure of the organizational and management capacity of the government apparatus at all levels, especially at the grassroots level.

According to Deputy Minister Truong Hai Long, in the context that the whole country is promoting the arrangement of the organizational structure, implementing the 2-level local government model, promoting digital transformation and administrative reform, election work sets higher, more comprehensive and stricter requirements.

The training conference is of particular importance, aiming to exchange and unify professional expertise in election work in the new period; equip fully with legal knowledge, procedures, and professional skills for forces participating in organizing and in charge of elections; improve situation handling skills, ensure that all stages of the election are carried out in accordance with the law, strictly, safely, democratically and publicly" - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs emphasized.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Truong Hai Long requested the delegates to highly promote the spirit of responsibility, focus on researching and frankly exchanging practical issues raised, especially issues that are still problematic and inadequate, contents that are easy to be wrong, easy to be stuck, easy to generate complaints, so that they can be applied uniformly and in accordance with regulations when implemented at the local level and grassroots level.

In the program, the Local Government Department (Ministry of Home Affairs) presented a thematic report "Voting tasks for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term"; representatives of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (Ministry of Public Security) presented a thematic report "The establishment, management, review and listing of voter lists associated with the exploitation and use of the National Population Database in the process of preparing for elections".

Leaders of the Ministry of Home Affairs, leaders of the Local Government Department and relevant agencies directly exchanged and answered difficulties, obstacles, and questions from localities.
