National Assembly Chairman: Accurately review voter lists, not to miss any voters

On the morning of February 26, the National Election Council organized a national online conference to assess the situation of deploying the preparation for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; and at the same time thoroughly grasp the key tasks in the final sprint phase, deciding the success of the upcoming election.

Speaking to direct at the Conference, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman, Chairman of the National Election Council Tran Thanh Man affirmed that, up to this point, the election preparation work is very timely, methodical, and thorough.

It can be affirmed that the preparation work from the Central to local levels up to now is methodical, on schedule, in accordance with the law, synchronous, and tight. The guiding documents are complete and issued early.

Personnel work is carefully prepared, ensuring standards, reasonable structure, proactiveness, quality, especially the application of information technology is promoted with the involvement of the Ministry of Public Security and Viettel Group" - National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

In addition, the National Assembly Chairwoman also requested central and local agencies to pay attention to a number of issues raised, such as: some places are still confused due to the arrangement of administrative units, the implementation of the two-level local government model, information technology software is still unstable, propaganda work in ethnic minority areas, and shift work for workers is not deep.

The National Assembly Chairwoman emphasized some lessons learned for localities to pay attention to. Among them, there is the good preparation of personnel procedures, from consulting to select and introduce candidates, collecting voters' opinions on candidates, and campaigning for elections to select worthy candidates who meet the prescribed conditions and standards.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man noted that in the past time, we have done well, but absolutely must not be subjective or negligent.

Regarding specific tasks, the National Assembly Chairman requested to organize well voter contact conferences, ensure democracy, equality, and compliance with the law. Accurately review the list of voters, not to miss any voters.

Along with that is to promote information and propaganda work, before, during and after elections, especially in special areas and special voters. In this period, central and local press agencies need to further promote information and propaganda work with the guidance of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The National Assembly Chairman requested to absolutely ensure security and safety. The Army and Police forces continue to coordinate closely, not allowing hostile elements to take advantage of and sabotage.

In particular, the National Assembly Chairman requested to organize voting and ballot counting strictly and objectively, and announce the election results no later than March 25, 2026, in accordance with the law.

The stricter we work, the sooner the results are announced, the better. Because it is expected that April 6th will be the First Session, the 16th National Assembly will open. After that, the People's Councils of localities will also hold the First Session" - the National Assembly Chairwoman stated clearly.

In addition, the National Assembly Chairwoman also requested agencies and localities to resolve complaints and denunciations within their authority, and complete the summary and confirmation of the status of the elected person in accordance with regulations.
