National Assembly Chairman gives 5 suggestions to Bac Ninh on digital transformation
Bac Ninh - On the afternoon of April 13, the Forum "Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation - Bac Ninh Breakthrough and Development" took place in Bac Ninh City.
Speaking at the Forum, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that Resolution 57 of the Politburo set a target that by 2030, Vietnam will be in the top 3 leading countries in Southeast Asia, top 50 leading countries in the world in digital competitiveness and e-Government development index.
Vietnam expects to rank in the top 3 leading countries in Southeast Asia in research and development of artificial intelligence, a center for development of a number of industries and fields of digital technology industry.
By 2045, Vietnam will be in the group of 30 leading countries in the world in innovation and digital transformation. The goal is that by 2030, the scale of the digital economy will account for more than 30% of GDP and increase to 50% by 2045.
Expressing his delight at the cooperation between Bac Ninh province and the Korean Business Association in Vietnam, National University, University of Technology, Academy of Posts and Telecommunications... with many memorandums of understanding and cooperation to be signed at the Forum, the National Assembly Chairman also suggested 5 important issues for Bac Ninh province.
First, developing a synchronous and modern digital infrastructure and digital platform. Accordingly, Bac Ninh is researching and investing in building modern data centers, especially developing Artificial Intelligence (AI), to meet the increasing demand for data storage and processing, in order to optimize investment and operation costs, increase flexibility and security.
Sharing the experience and success of Armenia in the TUMO Creative Technology Center model - a free educational center that helps young people self-study and improve their qualifications, especially in science, technology, and innovation, the National Assembly Chairman said that if each citizen and each business has a virtual assistant, children aged 12-18 are updated with knowledge about digital transformation and artificial intelligence, it will create strong development.
Second, develop the digital economy and support businesses in digital transformation. The Provincial People's Committee and Departments and branches will develop and implement comprehensive programs and solution packages to accompany businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, cooperatives, and business households in the province.
Prioritize research and provision of in-depth digital transformation solutions, applying new technologies to key economic sectors with local advantages such as industrial production, tourism, high-tech agriculture, contributing to achieving and exceeding the target of the proportion of the digital economy in GRDP.
Third, develop a science and technology and innovation ecosystem, develop a high-tech industrial park. Bac Ninh's determination to focus on investing heavily in high-tech industrial parks, high-quality agriculture, promoting innovation... is not only for the development of the province but also contributes to the whole country.
Fourth, developing high-quality human resources, attracting leading software engineers to work in Bac Ninh.
Fifth, develop digital data - build digital government - Digital society, the goal is to strongly reform administrative procedures to serve people and businesses.
The National Assembly Chairman said that at the upcoming 9th Session, the National Assembly will consider approving policies on: merging provinces and the whole country will have 28 provinces and 6 centrally-run cities; ending the operation of district level and reorganizing commune level with a reduction of about 60-70% of the current number of communes.
So, we have no other choice but to strongly apply information technology in management and operation from the Party, government, Fatherland Front, organizations..., the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
At the Forum, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province and the Korean Business Association in Vietnam, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology.
On this occasion, Bac Ninh province also launched the Risk Investment Fund for innovative startups, technology incubation and digital transformation.
