President Luong Cuong presides over welcoming ceremony for Hungarian President
On the morning of May 28, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong and his wife presided over a welcoming ceremony for Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas and his wife on an official visit to Vietnam.
Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas and his wife will pay an official visit to Vietnam from May 27 to 29 at the invitation of Politburo member and President Luong Cuong.
Attending the welcoming ceremony were Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son; Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Hong Thai; Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong; Assistant to President Tong Thanh Tri.
The convoy of vehicles carrying President Sulyok Tamas and his wife into the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and his wife were present on the hot red carpet to welcome President Sulyok Tamas leading the Hungarian high-ranking delegation to pay an official visit to Vietnam.
Children of the capital waved flags of the two countries to welcome President Sulyok Tamas and his wife along with the Hungarian high-ranking delegation. Children in the capital came to present President Sulyok Tamas and his wife with fresh bouquets of flowers.
In the welcome music, President Luong Cuong and the Hungarian President went to the honor podium. After listening to the two countries, President Luong Cuong and President Sulyok Tamas left the podium, stepped to bow to the army and approved the honorary team of the Vietnam People's Army. Next, the two leaders introduced the senior delegation of the two countries to attend the welcome ceremony.
Vietnam and Hungary officially established diplomatic relations on February 3, 1950 . Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two peoples have always stood side by side, supporting each other during the war years as well as in the cause of national construction. The two countries became Comprehensive Partners in September 2018.
Based on the good relationship over the past 75 years, this official visit to Vietnam by Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas and his wife demonstrates the respect, role and prestige of Vietnam in the region and internationally, and the desire of the two countries to promote the Vietnam - Hungary Comprehensive Partnership.
Through the visit, the relationship between the two countries will become increasingly deepened in traditional relations; at the same time, promoting new areas of cooperation such as renewable energy, nuclear energy, labor, information and communications technology, digital transformation, green transformation, etc.
After the welcoming ceremony, President Luong Cuong and President Sulyok Tamas led the high-ranking delegations of the two countries to hold talks, evaluate the cooperation results between the two countries in recent times and propose cooperation directions in the coming time.
