Finalizing the time to complete site clearance for the 120-180m wide road project in Hanoi

In October 2023, Hanoi started the investment project to build the Thang Long Avenue expressway, the section connecting National Highway 21 to the Hanoi - Hoa Binh expressway (Thang Long Avenue expressway project).

The project is about 6.7km long, with a cross-section of 120-180m through Hoa Lac and Yen Xuan communes.

The project has a total investment of 5, 249 billion VND, invested by the Hanoi Civil Engineering Construction Investment Project Management Board.

Hoa Lac Commune People's Committee said that the total area recovered for the project in the commune is 60.55ha/688 plots, and 100% of the volume has been inventoried since January 29.

To date, the locality has handed over nearly 55.3ha/653 plots (91.29%). Notably, 18.5ha/397 plots are cases of land donation, voluntary handover of land before receiving compensation payments, showing the spirit of consensus and high responsibility of the people towards the city's key project.

Regarding the implementation progress, 36.74ha/256 plots have been approved and compensation has been paid; 7.8ha/14 plots have been approved and waiting for payment; a draft compensation plan for 11.5ha/333 plots is being publicly announced; land origin, household registration and valuation of 4.498ha/85 plots have been confirmed.

Currently, nearly 5.3ha/35 plots (8.71%) have not been handed over land. Regarding difficulties and obstacles, Hoa Lac commune has proposed to the City People's Committee to agree on a solution to remove obstacles, soon hand over land, and ensure general progress.

Inspecting the site clearance work of the Thang Long Avenue expressway construction investment project on February 24, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Trong Dong emphasized that the project is of great significance in completing the transportation network, strengthening regional linkages, and expanding socio-economic development space.

Directing the tasks to be done immediately, Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong requested the investor, contractor and local authorities to closely coordinate, focus on immediately removing obstacles in site clearance, complete the handover of the entire site before February 28, organize construction to ensure the completion of the project before April 30, 2026 according to the city's direction.

In addition, it is necessary to pay special attention to ensuring traffic safety, construction safety, and environmental sanitation during construction; constructing neatly wherever possible.

Leaders of communes and related units must be highly determined, stick to each part of the work, promote responsibility for the common good, ensure the project is completed soon, put into use, serve the people and promote the sustainable development of the locality.
