finalizing the completion time of 2 large bridges across the Red River on Ring Road 4
Hanoi - Hong Ha and Me So bridges across the Red River under the Ring Road 4 project in the Capital Region are expected to be completed in 2028, after 30 months of construction.
On September 6, Component Project 3 to invest in the construction of expressways under the public-private partnership method - Hanoi Ring Road 4 Construction Investment Project was started.
The entire route of the project is over 113.5km long (of which 103.8km is the main route and 9.7km is the connecting route towards Noi Bai - Ha Long Expressway); the total investment is nearly 56,300 billion VND. In phase 1, the project has a scale of 4 lanes.
The project has 13 elevated sections with a total length of nearly 81km, accounting for more than 71% of the route length. On the route, there are 3 large bridges across the Red River and Duong River (Hong Ha and Me So bridges across the Red River; Hoai Thuong bridge across the Duong River), along with 8 interconnecting intersections and one intersection that has been completely completed.

Hong Ha bridge is about 4.377km long, crossing Ta Hong and Huu Hong dykes, starting at Me Linh commune and ending at O Dien commune.
The cross-section of the Bc bridge = 24.5m. The prestressed reinforced concrete bridge includes canals (main span is 135m), Super T approach spans, 18 canals crossing the river (main span is 90m), 3 canals crossing the Huu Hong dike (main span is 90m).
The construction cost is about 3,700 billion VND.

Up to now, the project enterprise - the investor (Hanoi Ring Road 4 Expressway Joint Stock Company) is implementing the construction of bridge-crossing piles (38 piles).
According to the latest information, Me Linh and O Dien communes have basically handed over enough site to the contractor for the construction of the cantilever bridge over the river, ensuring the completion of the construction of bored piles and pillars before the 2026 flood season, ensuring the construction progress of 30 months (the first quarter of 2028).

With Me So bridge, the project is about 2.024km long, crossing Huu Hong and Ta Hong dykes, starting at Hong Van commune (Hanoi); ending at Me So commune (Hung Yen).
According to the design, the cross-section of Me So Bridge is 24.5m wide, designed with 4 lanes for motor vehicles and arranged on each side of a lane for motorbikes and rudimentary vehicles.
The prestressed reinforced concrete bridge includes 5 canals crossing the Huu Hong and Red rivers (155m main span), Super T approach spans, and canals crossing the dykes (90m main span).
The cost of building Me So bridge is about 1,800 billion VND.

Regarding the implementation of the Me So bridge project across the Red River, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the project enterprise - the investor is implementing (Hanoi Ring Road 4 Expressway Joint Stock Company) the construction of bored piles for the approach bridge (23 piles).
Regarding difficulties and problems, the Project Management Board said that the area outside the dike in Me So commune, Hung Yen province has not been completed with a length of about 0.2km, an area of 1.0ha that needs to be handed over in December 2025 to construct the sections of the bridge and bridge over the river to ensure the completion of bored piles and pillars before the 2026 flood season, ensuring a construction progress of 30 months (the first quarter of 2028).
