Details of the proposal to adjust pensions and social insurance allowances in the new circular
According to the draft Circular adjusting pensions and social insurance allowances, there are detailed regulations on the adjustment level.
On April 15, the Government Portal posted the draft Circular guiding the implementation of pension adjustments, social insurance allowances and monthly allowances. The Circular is expected to take effect from July 1, 2026.
One of the notable points of the Circular is the adjustment of pensions, social insurance allowances and monthly allowances (Article 2):
Propose 02 options according to the Draft Decree:
Option 1:
From July 1, 2026, the pension level, social insurance allowance and monthly allowance of the subjects specified in Clause 1, Article 1 of this Circular are adjusted as follows:
a) Adjusting an additional increase of 4.5% and 200,000 VND/month on the pension level, social insurance allowance and monthly allowance of June 2026 for subjects specified in points a, b and c, clause 1, Article 1 of Decree No. /2026/ND-CP. Specifically:
From July 1, 2026, the pension level, social insurance allowance and monthly allowance of the subjects specified in Clause 2, Article 1 of this Circular are adjusted as follows:
a) For people with pensions, social insurance allowances, monthly allowances after adjusting according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 2 of this Circular equal to or lower than 3,500,000 VND/month, they are adjusted to increase by 300,000 VND/month:
Option 2:
From July 1, 2026, the pension level, social insurance allowance and monthly allowance of the subjects specified in Clause 1, Article 1 of this Circular are adjusted to increase by 8% on the pension level, social insurance allowance and monthly allowance of June 2026. Specifically:
From July 1, 2026, the pension level, social insurance allowance and monthly allowance of the subjects specified in Clause 2, Article 1 of this Circular are adjusted as follows:
a) For people with pensions, social insurance allowances, monthly allowances after adjusting according to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 2 of this Circular equal to or lower than 3,500,000 VND/month, they are adjusted to increase by 300,000 VND/month:
