The Politburo works with the Hanoi Party Committee and Ho Chi Minh City on preparing for the Party Congress

On August 21, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Politburo chaired by General Secretary To Lam worked with the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to give opinions on the draft documents and personnel plan of the Party Committee to submit to the Hanoi City Party Congress and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of a number of central agencies and leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors of the two cities.

In his opening speech, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: The Politburo worked with the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, stemming from the role and importance of the two localities to the whole country, with the aim of carefully preparing documents and personnel to submit to the Congress to ensure that it meets the vision and development orientation in the context of many changes in development space, resources and motivation for Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to develop commensurate with the role, position, potential and strengths of each locality and the whole country.

At the meeting, after listening to representatives of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee report on the draft documents and personnel plans for the 2025 - 2030 term, report on receiving and explaining the contributions of central departments, ministries and branches, Politburo members gave their opinions focusing on emphasizing solutions to completely resolve the limitations, shortcomings and development bottlenecks of the two cities; at the same time, suggesting and supplementing orientations on tasks, solutions, leadership methods, experience, and new ways of doing things in the leadership and direction of the two cities in the 2025 - 2030 term and vision to 2045.

Concluding the meeting, General Secretary To Lam acknowledged and highly appreciated the important results achieved by the Hanoi City Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee in the 2020 - 2025 term. The General Secretary highly appreciated the preparation of Congress documents that have been implemented methodically, scientifically and thoroughly by the two Party Committees.

Regarding the direction and tasks for the 2025 - 2030 term, General Secretary To Lam suggested that the Hanoi Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee should deeply recognize the especially important position and role of the Capital and Ho Chi Minh City to fully recognize the Central Government's attention and facilitation for superior mechanisms, policies and resources, to clearly see the responsibility to the whole country.

The General Secretary hopes that with the goal of rapid and sustainable development, Hanoi City needs to focus on promoting the unique cultural values of the thousand-year-old, heroic capital, "Capital of conscience and human dignity"; building elegant, civilized, modern, and rich in humanity for Hanoians. Hanoi City must be a typical political and cultural center of the country, building the image of a green - smart - livable capital - with both domestic and foreign attraction.

For Ho Chi Minh City, it is necessary to establish a new growth model based on science, technology, innovation, digital transformation; develop a knowledge-based, creative economy, with high added value to become a civilized, modern city, a center for innovation, dynamism, integration, taking the lead in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, continuing to be the economic "locomotive" of the whole country, with an outstanding position in Southeast Asia.

The vision to 2045 is to become an urban area on par with major cities in the world; an economic, financial and tourism center of Asia; an attractive global destination, a place with unique and sustainable economic, cultural and social development, high quality of life, extensive international integration, in the top 100 smart and sustainable developing global cities, becoming a typical socialist city of Vietnam. Build Hanoi Capital and Ho Chi Minh City to be orderly, disciplined, safe and healthy; be a safe and secure destination for the world.

General Secretary To Lam suggested that the Hanoi Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee accept the opinions of Politburo members; comments from departments, ministries and branches to complete the content of the document, and successfully organize the Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term.

At the same time, focus on developing an action program to implement the Congress Resolution, with appropriate groups of tasks and solutions, feasible roadmaps; ensure the successful implementation of the Congress's goals and targets, soon put the Resolution into practice; effectively implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, orientations and directions of the Central Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat in the new era; take advantage of opportunities, overcome challenges, and successfully implement the two-level local government model, for the whole country, and the whole country to develop prosperity and prosperity.
