7 days early elections at 3 locations in a mountainous commune of Quang Tri province
Quang Tri - 3 polling stations in Truong Son commune will hold elections earlier than the whole country, due to difficult traffic conditions.
The National Election Council agreed with the proposal of the Quang Tri Provincial Election Commission to organize voting 7 days earlier than the national election day in 3 polling areas in Truong Son commune.
These areas include area No. 13 in Doc May village, No. 16 in Hoi Ray village and No. 17 in Nuoc Dang village. These areas will hold a vote on March 8, 2026.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee - said that early voting is carried out to ensure voting rights for people in areas with traffic difficulties.
Villages and hamlets in Truong Son commune, especially Doc May hamlet, where people have to walk through the forest for 6-9 hours to reach the center, will be able to fulfill their civic duties more easily. Meanwhile, Hoi Ray and Nuoc Dang hamlets have to travel by motorboat for 2-3 hours to reach the center.
Organizing early voting is to help election teams complete their tasks during the day and does not affect the progress of summarizing election results.
