Thanh Nien Newspaper celebrates 40 years of publishing the first issue

According to Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper Nguyen Ngoc Toan: In 1985, exactly 10 years after the day of national reunification, the Vietnamese revolutionary press faced a pivotal moment, preparing to innovate. In that context, the idea of a newspaper for young people was formed by people who had been active in the student movement in urban areas in the South before 1975.

From the idea of Dr. Huynh Tan Dam and the support of central agencies, Thanh Nien newspaper was officially born on January 3, 1986. According to Mr. Toan, overcoming many difficulties, consecutive generations have inherited the commitment and aspiration of pioneers, contributing their youth to enrich the newspaper's development. Thanh Nien is a newspaper that actively supports innovation in state management thinking, especially policies for young people, students, and businessmen; resolutely fights against negativity, corruption, and waste; pioneers in gathering, uniting, and mobilizing all classes of young people at home and abroad.

Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Ngoc Toan affirmed that generations of journalists always respect and show gratitude to the founders and agencies that have supported the policy of building a newspaper for young people nationwide, and affirmed that after 40 years, the vision and trust of the predecessors have been put in place.

On behalf of the leaders of the governing bodies, Mr. Bui Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, First Secretary of the Central Youth Union - congratulated the collective of Thanh Nien newspapers on their 40-year journey with the country and readers.

Mr. Bui Quang Huy assessed that after 4 decades of construction and growth, Thanh Nien Newspaper has had remarkable development steps, affirming its position as one of the leading prestigious press agencies, with a large number of readers and profound influence in society.

From the early days, there were many difficulties, but with a spirit of dynamism, creativity and solidarity, the collective of leaders, reporters, editors and those working at Thanh Nien Newspaper joined hands to create great achievements for the newspaper, becoming one of the pioneers in many fields of the country's newspaper village.
