Cao Bang Social Insurance stops issuing paper insurance cards
Cao Bang - From June 1, the provincial Social Insurance will stop issuing paper health insurance cards.
Cao Bang Social Insurance has just issued Official Letter No. 470/BHXH-TST on stopping the issuance of paper Health Insurance cards.
Instead, people will use electronic methods such as VssID, VNeID applications or chip-embedded citizen identification cards (CCCD) when going to the doctor.
The above document was issued by Cao Bang Social Insurance based on Official Dispatch No. 168/BHXH-QLT dated March 26, 2025 of Vietnam Social Insurance on the use of health insurance card blanks.
Accordingly, from June 1, the Social Insurance agency will only print and issue paper health insurance cards in special cases - specifically when people do not have a chip-embedded ID card and cannot install the VssID or VNeID application.
In order to ensure the rights of health insurance participants, the provincial Social Insurance recommends that units coordinate to promote propaganda work so that people clearly understand this policy.
At the same time, relevant agencies and units need to instruct people to install and use VssID, VNeID applications or use chip-embedded ID cards when going to the doctor or get treatment instead of paper health insurance cards.
During the implementation process, if problems arise, people need to promptly report to the social insurance agency that directly manages them for support and resolution.
